Entrepreneurs in Indiana

We have talked before about why a company should locate to Indiana. What the advantages are tax wise, what the city has to offer, cost of living, crime rate, educational rankings, and unemployment to name a few. So many times people ask locals why do you want to live in a state that is too hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter, and unpredictable spring and fall. It’s not the weather or the big city living or top name athletes, even though our own Indianapolis Colts won a Superbowl Championship have been to the playoffs and lost to New Orleans in the 2010 Superbowl. It is the growing economy and the strive to be on top that people want to live in Indiana. The job growth in 2010 has continued to rise in the nation and since January 2010 Indiana has accounted for 10 percent of the nation’s private sector job growth and eight Indiana cities have been named as hot places for entrepreneurs. There are many support systems provided by Indiana for emerging start-ups from tax credits and abatement, mentor ship programs to a variety of business support resources. Indiana has the initiatives and programs in place to create a supportive economic environment and to ensure that entrepreneurs have the expertise and resources they need to transform their ideas into the next generation of companies.
In closing listen to the catch phrase “there’s more than corn in Indiana” because it is true. Indiana has many wonderful opportunities to offer a business and now is the time to take advantage of those.
